Simple as ABC #3: The Wild Hunt

The Wild Hunt is an audio performance that unravels contemporary practices of human hunting. For the piece, experts based around the Mediterranean were invited to answer the following question: “If you could create one image for an exhibition on human hunting, what would it depict?” Who is hunting whom and how? Who are the onlookers? And how clear-cut or reversible are such categories? The result is a many-voiced mosaic in Arabic, English, Farsi, French and Greek. Like absent guides, multiple voices show the spectators round an imaginary museum displaying hunting scenes that are usually hard to capture.

The Wild Hunt is the third instalment of Simple as ABC, a growing series on the European ‘mobility management machine’. It follows a theatrical audio essay about cutting edge detection technology and a documentary musical about the digitisation of the EU border.
